The King Fahd Center is home to all of the Department's specialized investigative services, ranging from a full featured lab to urodynamics and uroradiology suites.
The King Fahd Center operates the nation's only public (free) renal transplantation program.

The Center was inaugurated in 1986 and occupies three floors (4-6) of the Surgery and Emergency Building of Cairo University Hospitals. Its 65 inpatient beds form more than half of the Urology Department's inpatient capacity. The majority of beds are dedicated to urologic cases and the remaining beds are for cases that require nephrologic care and/or dialysis. Multidisciplinary meetings are often held for the joint care of the Center's patients.

The  King Fahd Center is served by 4 dedicated operating rooms. Staffed by a specialized nursing team, patients requiring surgical intervention are offered the best in urologic surgery, including minimally invasive laparoscopy and laser procedures.
The Center is also served by a dedicated dialysis facility that not only offers the latest in renal replacement therapy to the Centers patients, but also accepts acute dialysis cases referred nationwide.
The Kind Fahd Center Urology Division is currently chaired by Dr. Amr Abdel-Hakim. The Center's weekly schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday: In-patient Service
  • Sunday: Major Surgery
  • Monday: Out-patient Service
